Does not seem like a textbook

Reading this book I had a lot of fun! At the beginning of each chapter there is a case of a real life true example of what will be discussed throughout the rest of the chapter. Each chapter is organized and easy to follow in more of a story plot way that a textbook way.
There are lots of graphs which I found complemented the text very well. The whole book is like a history timeline of ERPs so it helped me understand why ERPs are the way they are and why/how they developed and evolved to where they are now.
There are times when I felt that there was not enough detail, as if I was reading about information at too much of a high level, and other times I was glad this was not a technical book. This book would be great for providing basic historical information for those who may not be well versed in all the technical terms of the trade and want to know the affects ERPs have on and within a company.

Not compatible with windows 8

Incompatible with windows 8. When I purchased this, I purchased the kindle version. When I tried to view it on my computer, I was informed that it is not available for windows 8. They need to inform people before purchase about availability/compatibility with software versions. I am not able to use the version purchased on my computer for class now.

This is a very informative book for the basics of the subject. It is easy to read and understand, and defines and explains everything clearly. This was a requirement for one of my university classes, and I feel it was a good decision by the professor to use this book. As per usual, Amazon offered it at a fraction of the cost of the bookstore at school.
